A delightful project for NK Bohdan publishing house, involving the creation of a cover illustration, endpaper maps, a title page, a fore-edge painting, and a series of 15 interior illustrations for the young adult fantasy novel The Gift of the Six by Anastasiya Hetmanska.
The story features a classic quest, ancient mysteries, a touch of romance, and even political intrigue. It is the first installment of a fantasy trilogy.
Book annotation:
For nearly two centuries, the kingdoms of Granar and Fidera upheld an agreement meant to prevent the rise of the Ruinbringers – sorcerers wielding devastating magical power. But the pact is broken when a young gemstone seeker named Barv stumbles upon an unusual girl, Voloshka, in the depths of the forest.
Seven years later, an ancient spell awakens, offering a dangerous military advantage to one of the kingdoms. The fragile peace teeters on the brink of collapse. To save Granar from war, Voloshka and Barv follow the call of the spell into the perilous Forgotten Lands, where magic reigns and deadly creatures lurk. They are joined by a charming spy, a battle-hardened soldier, an eccentric sorcerer, and a shaggy burindukh – though only the last one's loyalty is beyond question.
Meanwhile, young King Tur faces a difficult choice that will determine the fate of all Granar…
The Gift of the Six is the first book in Anastasiya Hetmanska’s captivating fantasy series, The Granar Ruinbringer.
